A Brief Introduction to the RLC PTSA Board

Who makes up the RLC PTSA Board? The RLC PTSA Board is made up of elected officials (known as the Executive Board), non-elected chairs, a teacher representative, student representatives, and an administration representative.

What positions are a part of the Executive Board? The Executive Board includes the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The RLC PTSA Membership holds a vote, typically at the last General Membership Meeting of the year, to elect the incoming Executive Board officers for the following school year to a one-year term. Individuals may only hold a specific office for two consecutive terms. The Nominating Committee, typically elected at our Winter General Membership Meeting, is tasked with finding candidates to recommend for office.

What are the non-elected chair positions? These positions include Events & Fundraising, Communications, Membership, Staff Appreciation, Reflections, Advocacy, and Website.

How often & when does the Board Meet? The RLC PTSA Board meets together once a month (historically on a Thursday afternoon/evening). The Executive Board and non-elected chairs may also hold their own individual meetings throughout the year, as needed, and report information back to the Board.

Want to know more?  If you're interested in reading a brief description about each Board position, please review the job descriptions here.  If you are considering a board position, a more detailed job description can be requested by emailing rlcptsa@gmail.com.

What if I can't commit to a Board position, but I want to help? While the board is tasked with fulfilling the mission and goals of the RLC PTSA (see below) with guidance from membership, we rely on dedicated volunteers to help us throughout the year. If you can't commit to a Board position, but would like to help on a specific committee or with a specific event, please submit your interest here. Thank you!
