2026 Staff Appreciation Week

This year’s Staff Appreciation Week (SAW) is road-trip themed at RLC:

Monday: Fuel Up for the Journey

Tuesday: Pick Your Travel Buddy

Wednesday: Pit-Stop Pick-Me-Ups

Thursday: Scenic Lunch

Friday: Destination: Souvenir

While RLC PTSA, along with generous contributions from local businesses like Blake’s Pizzeria and Starbucks, will cover most items, we invite you to help us make the staff celebration even more special by contributing to one of the themed days below.

Option One: Donate a breakfast item. We’ll start the week off with a “Fuel Up for the Journey” Breakfast. In addition to the requested items, waffles & Starbucks coffee will be provided. Option Two: $8 drink donation (16 – $8 donations needed total). Our mid-week featured day is a “Pit Stop Pick-Me-Up,” complete with a trail mix snack station and personalized drinks to keep everyone fueled and feeling appreciated. 2025-26 Standards of Affiliation Recognition Award

RLC PTSA was recently recognized by Washington State PTA for being “In Good Standing”! By completing and submitting the WSPTA Standards of Affiliation checklist, RLC PTSA demonstrated that our PTA complies with all nonprofit business requirements and is current with IRS, Washington State, and our insurance obligations. Additionally, this recognition means we adhere to best PTA practices by ensuring officers are elected, financial reviews are conducted, and officers are well-trained and informed.

We couldn’t achieve this recognition without dedicated board members & staff representatives and members like you! If you’re interested in joining the Executive Board next year, we’d love to talk with you. RLC is inviting families to stop by and learn about 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐄, our K–8 Parent Partnership program:

𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐄 is all about giving students a small, supportive community and learning that fits their strengths and interests. Our teachers work closely with families to make learning meaningful and hands-on.At the Open House, meet our staff, ask questions, and see how PARADE supports students with:

• Student-centered learning

• Interdisciplinary, theme-based projects

• Mixed-age classrooms

• Math instruction guided by teachers
• Real-world learning experiences

“I Belong” Reflections Gala

This year, RLC PTSA received 17 “I Belong” Reflections entries across four categories. From those submissions, eight entries advanced to the district level. On January 30th, those students and their work were honored—alongside other district-wide finalists—at the Reflections Gala.

We are proud to share that four RLC students were selected to advance to the Washington State PTA Reflections Contest. Please join us in congratulating:

Movie Night #2 Date Change + LEARN Training Information

January 29, 2026

RLC PTSA Movie Night #2 has been rescheduled from Thursday, March 12th to Thursday, March 19th. Doors will open at 5:30pm, and the movie will begin at 6:00pm.

Why the change? The Forefront Suicide Prevention LEARN Training for parents and caregivers is also scheduled for March 12, 2026, from 6:30–8:00pm in the Tolt Middle School Library. To ensure parents and caregivers have the opportunity to attend this important training, the Board decided to move Movie Night #2 to March 19th. Thank you for your understanding. About the LEARN Training: The Cedarcrest Forefront Team invites Riverview School District parents and caregivers to attend a free suicide prevention training on March 12, 2026 from 6:30pm – 8pm at the Tolt Middle School Library. Come learn a five-step process to help you talk with someone you’re worried about, learn if they are considering suicide and take early steps to keep them safe. This training is designed for parents and caregivers of students in grades 9 through 12, but the steps can be adapted and used with youth of any age, particularly middle school and up. Bingo Night & General Membership Meeting

🎉 Bingo Night Is Back! 🎉

Join us for a fun-filled night of Bingo with friends and family on Thursday, February 26th, at 6pm in the MPR! Game cards are $5 each and include five games—each participant will need their own set of game cards. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Please note: Students in grades K–8 must be accompanied by an adult.

We’ll also be hosting a brief RLC PTSA General Membership Meeting during the event.
