2024-2025 Year In Review

June 25, 2025
Thank you to our RLC PTSA Members, Families, & Supporters! Look at all we accomplished together this past school year. We couldn’t have done it without you. School may be out, but we’re already planning for the 2025-26 school year.

Interested in helping make those plans happen? We’ll share 2025-26 RLC PTSA Membership information soon, including fun perks with local businesses for our members. Remember memberships must be renewed yearly and they help support our mission, goals, & programs.

Get more involved. We’re also still looking for help with Social media/Website, Reflections, & Event Leads (Did you love trivia night or Bingo Night? Want to help plan the next one?). Maybe you can’t take on a full committee position. Just let us know what you can do & let’s do this next year together!

2025 RLC PTSA PARADE Scholarship Recipient

June 12, 2025

At the RLC Graduation Ceremony, RLC PTSA was pleased to present a $300 Scholarship to PARADE Graduating Student Oliver Stivers. Please join us in congratulating Oliver.

Thank you to the RLC PTSA Membership for making these scholarships available to RLC graduating students. If you have a graduating senior next year, look for RLC PTSA scholarship information to come out sometime in early 2026!

2025 Graduation Support & Grad Bags

June 11, 2025
RLC PTSA was excited to welcome the 2025 RLC Seniors & their friends & family to the RLC Graduation Ceremony on Monday, 6/11, at 6:30pm at the ESC. We spent the day decorating the assembly hall, putting out grad bags, prepping the photo/selfie station, and making sure there was cake!

2025 Grad Bags: After the graduation ceremony, we encouraged all Graduates to pick up a “Grad Bag” full of things to celebrate their accomplishment!

Grad Bag Items included: card, gum, star, hand sanitizer & holder, pen, socks, chapstick with Raven wrapper, 2025 Grad m&ms in bottle, ’25 pin, graduation duck, congrats grad keychain, 3D printing Raven, & a Positive Potato Sticker. Ms. Kris had a positive potato at the front desk and we wanted the students to have their own!

A huge thank you to all of the RLC PTSA members & RLC Families who contributed to our Grad Bags. And thank you to the Romines Family for these fabulous 3D Ravens! We love being able to carry on the tradition.

Note: If you (or your graduate) did not participate in the ceremony, there will still be a bag waiting for you/them at RLC.

Introducing the 2025-26 RLC PTSA Executive Board

May 21, 2025
RLC PTSA’s 2025-26 Executive Board Members were voted in by membership at our GMM on May 15th. Their terms begin July 1, 2025 and run until June 30, 2026.

While having a full executive board is a great start to next year, planning & successfully executing a year of programs, events, & support takes an even larger team!

Will you support RLC PTSA & RLC by filling one of the following needs?

-Events (typically 3-4/year; 3 in conjunction with GMMS)
-Fundraising (Read-A-Thon, MOD, open to new ideas!)
-Reflections (August-January)
-Membership (All year with Fall being most active)
-Staff Appreciation (Snack cart, SAW, open to new ideas!)
-Communications (Website, Social Media, flyers as requested)

Please email rlcptsa@gmail.com for more information.

2025 RLC PTSA Golden Acorn Award

May 15, 2025

At our General Membership Meeting, we got the pleasure of surprising Ms. Roper with a Golden Acorn Award.

About the Award: Per wastatepta.org, “The Golden Acorn Award is a very prestigious Washington State PTA award that is given out by local PTAs/PTSAs for exemplary and outstanding volunteerism and service to PTA. Honorees that receive this award, have volunteer experience at the local PTA level, in the community, and at the school and/or school district level. It is normally given out to a PTA member. Recipients receive a certificate and pin, and a contribution is made in their name to the Washington State PTA Scholarship Program that benefits students.”

Here is what we shared at the GMM:
“Ms. Roper has served as our PTSA Teacher Representative for many years. During that time, she has been committed to showing up as a voice for students and staff. Her presence creates a bridge between the building and the PTSA, so we can prioritize how to best contribute to the RLC community. This is particularly true with events. She’s always been generous with her time and energy to make events successful and fun. We can say with all certainty that Pottery Night would not go as smoothly without all of the work she does behind the scenes – taking inventory of pieces, managing pre-orders, & helping us take on one of our largest, most time-consuming, & anticipated events year after year. Not only was she instrumental with Pottery Night, this year she also scooped out ice cream, showed up in costume for our Costume walk, played Bingo with us, & made sure students participating in Read-A-Thon got little check-in prizes. She even gives up a few hours of her summers to help us plan our year ahead. She does all of this in addition to being one of our amazing educators at RLC, teaching our students & supporting families. For all of these reasons, and more, the RLC PTSA Board is honored to present Ms. Roper with a Golden Acorn Award.”

Thank you Ms. Roper!

Trivia Night is for the Whole Family!

May 12, 2025
Will Trivia Night this Thursday (5/15 at 6pm in the MPR) with Minute to Win It games be fun for the whole family? The answer is YES!

The trivia questions (and bonus follow up questions) are family-friendly, range from “easier” to “harder”, and include questions about sports, history, animals, kid movies, science, etc. The Minute to Win It games can be played by all ages as well. There are some questions that your preschooler may be able to answer easier than your high schooler & vice versa. That’s the beauty of playing as a team!

So, will it be your team who gets to leave with our “Top Banana” Awards?

Staff Appreciation Week: Day 5

May 9, 2025
Today RLC Staff can take home a gift bag filled with items we hope encourage them to take a moment to “relax & unwind”.

Thank you to everyone who made these bags possible, from your gift of time, creativity, &/or donations. The gifted items were made possible through the generous “Self-Care Bag” donations from RLC Families. Additional RLC volunteers gave the gift of time to assemble the bags. Finally, Kaelyn H. (9th grade PARADE Student) wrote a ‘worry stone poem’ to include in each bag with a worry stone.

Staff Appreciation Week may be wrapping up, but we’ve still got a little more fun to go: Raffle Winners will be announced next week at our GMM!
